Welcome to all delegates to the JISC-funded workshop “Optical Character Recognition (OCR) for the mass digitisation of textual materials: Improving Access to Text”. This is taking place at the University of Bath on Thursday, 24th September 2009. We hope you enjoy the day!
As part of the workshop, we are experimenting with new ways of communicating and disseminating both the presentations and the “workshop experience”.
For those who love to tweet, please use the #tag #ocr2009. A feed of these tweets will be published to the blog.
Summaries of each presentation, as well as slides, will be posted to the blog. Please post your comments and reflections.
We are currently exploring the use of video – we may record the presentations, and we may try to create some voxpops to capture your reaction before and after the workshop – but only if you’re happy with this!
